Charities combine to expand services

TWO charities which have provided support for carers for 25 years are joining forces to expand their services.
Scarborough & Ryedale Carers Resource and Hambleton and Richmondshire Carers Centre have provided unpaid carers across their respective areas with information, advice and support services.
Over this time, they have developed a partnership between the teams sharing knowledge, expertise and resources wherever possible and as a result will be officially combining from July 1 as Carers Plus Yorkshire

Carers Plus Yorkshire, along with national charity Carers Trust have both shown their support for the campaign.
Carers Plus Yorkshire is the new name under which Scarborough & Ryedale Carers Resource and Hambleton and Richmondshire Carers Centre will soon be operating having decided to join forces.
They said: We are proud to be part of the National Carers Week campaign and helping to ensure we make caring visible and valued. ....

Jess' journey to recovery with York Mind after depression

Jess Holmes of York is urging others to get support
I have been able to forge a life that I not only think is worth living but I am so proud to live it.
These are the words of Jess Holmes who reached out to York Mind in August 2020 after the pandemic left her isolated and unemployed.
To celebrate her own journey to recovery, Jess has spoken out for Mental Health Awareness Week after the longest time thinking that having depression had broken me .
Explaining life before support, Jess said: I have struggled with depression and anxiety for a large portion of my life. I’ve spent most of my 20’s in a cycle of GP appointments, medication and therapy sessions in order to try and escape the grasp that depression can have over me. ....
