Julie Bazan, the executive director of MRGB-AHEC, has received a distinguished national award that honors her determination, leadership and the far reach she has in national and local networks that serve communities.
Bazan, who started out as a secretary, the only full-time employee in 1993 when the Mid-Rio Grande Border Area Health Center was established, has been executive director since 2010. She said that she shared the award with the board, staff, student volunteers and the community. ....
