How to take part in Walk for Wards Wherever You Are 2021


The event takes place on Sunday, July 4.
Choose a distance
Participants are asked to walk 3km, 5km, 10km, or as far as they would like, at a location of their choice and to get sponsored to help raise funds for the charity’s projects that support patients and NHS staff across Salisbury District Hospital.

Urology surgeon and Stars Appeal ambassador Melissa Davies, said: “Walk for Wards is our charity’s flagship event and after the success of last year’s Wherever You Are format we are again asking everyone to show their support for our hospital by organising their own sponsored walk. Funds raised by the walk will play a vital role in funding Stars Appeal projects that make such a difference to both our patients and our staff.” ....

On 4 March 2018, British police officer Nick Bailey found himself caught up in the Salisbury poisonings.
What he expected to be a normal day at work led to him being inadvertently contaminated, and fighting for his life in intensive care at Salisbury hospital. He survived, but that day changed his life forever.
Bailey was eventually discharged from hospital, but did not feel in good health, physically or mentally. He and his family lost their home and all their belongings. He suffered from anxiety and depression. He tried to return to work three times but in the end he left the police – the only job he had ever wanted to do. ....
