AUBURN â May will be Pink Out Month in Auburn, Mayor Mike Ley proclaimed in a ceremony Tuesday. The Alpha Pi Chapter of Tri Kappa will sponsor events throughout the month to promote awareness and early detection of breast cancer. Activities will include Dine 2 Donate events on May 11 at Mad Anthony s Tap Room and May 13 at The Italian Grille. A Dessert 2 Donate event is scheduled for May 20 at Classic City Cookies, with pre-orders due by May 17. The Brown House will donate to Pink Out through its Pints for Purpose program. A portion of the proceeds from ice cream pint sales will go toward Pink Out. Flavors include strawberry, âPound Cake Piecesâ and pink sprinkles for $6 per pint.

If you are a resident of DeKalb or Noble counties, are uninsured or under insured, you may be eligible to receive a free pap smear and pelvic exam as well as a bone density screening (provided by DeKalb Health). Francine s Friends Mobile Mammography provides services in their mobile coach four times a year at the clinic. Priority for mammograms is given first to patients of St. Martin s; however, the public may be eligible as space allows. Our next three dates are June 30, Sept. 22 and Nov. 17. LAGRANGE â Parkview LaGrange Hospital is hosting a Check-Up Day Thursday, March 25. In addition to offering low-cost blood tests, the event will include the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile and Francineâs Friends Mobile Mammography, creating easy access to a variety of wellness screenings. To follow health and safety protocols, all services will be available by appointment only, and face masks are required for everyone older than age 2. Blood tests Wellness Package A: Lipid profile and Comprehensive Metabolic Profile, $35. Wellness Package B: All tests in Wellness Package A, plus a Hemogram, $45.
