Pacific Airshow will return to Huntington Beach this October

Huntington Beach resident Kevin Elliott said the typical planning cycle for an airshow is two to three years.
When the Great Pacific Airshow was canceled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was a step back. But Elliott, who puts on the show with his production team at Code Four, promises the most packed lineup in the show’s history for 2021.
Tickets go on sale Thursday for the beach event, which has been renamed the Pacific Airshow. The three-day experience is scheduled in Huntington Beach from Oct. 1 to 3. ....

The Miramar Air Show known as the largest display of military aircraft in the nation has been grounded one more year by concerns over the coronavirus pandemic.

U.S. Army Reserve jets set for move to Los Alamitos base

The U.S. Army Reserve is planning to permanently relocate four passenger jets to Joint Forces Training Base Los Alamitos by this summer, adding about 200 takeoffs and landings per year.
The fleet of UC-35A Cessna Citation Ultras will move from Fort Hood, Texas, with 18 soldiers assigned to 6th Battalion, 52nd Aviation Unit, according to a notice from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
The aircraft are used by U.S. Transportation Command to fly military personnel and Department of Defense civilians on official business within the continental U.S.
Most of the UC-35A pilots work for commercial airlines and must commute across the country to perform their Army Reserve duties, according to the Corps. Fort Hood is serviced by a small regional airport that offers a limited number of flights. ....

2021 Great Pacific Airshow plans are getting underway

The Great Pacific Airshow announces that plans are underway for the Oct. 1-3, 2021 airshow in Huntington Beach, Calif., which for the first time will feature top performers from the Army, Air Force, Navy and Marines.
“We are all looking forward to 2021 and what better way to celebrate The Great Pacific Airshow’s return than with a performance from the legendary Blue Angels on their 75th anniversary in their new aircraft and the crowd-favorite Canadian Snowbirds,” said Kevin Elliott, Airshow Director and CEO of Code Four, operators of The Great Pacific Airshow.
