MINSK, 20 May (BelTA) - About 300 applications have been submitted to the second China-Belarus youth contest of research and innovation projects, including 195 from Belarus, Aleksandr Shumilin, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology, said at the opening of the contest on 20 May, BelTA learned from the press service of the committee.
According to him, the largest number of projects are related to technical disciplines – a total of 66% of all applications. MINSK, 6 May (BelTA) - Belarus was among the few countries that increased the inflow of net foreign direct investment last year, Belarus Economy Minister Aleksandr Chervyakov said in an interview to the SB. Belarus Segodnya newspaper, BelTA has learned.
According to him, the competition for foreign investment has sharply increased in recent years. This is partly a consequence of weaker international investment flows triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic.
“According to UNCTAD s 2020 data, global foreign direct investment fell by 42%. The decline was 69% in developed countries, 12% in developing countries, and 77% in transition economies. Belarus was among the few countries to have increased the inflow of net foreign direct investment last year, up $1.4 billion, or 6.6%.
