One of the three Sydney removalists who entered Victoria while unknowingly infected with the highly infectious Delta variant of coronavirus earlier this month has been fined for not wearing a mask but no other enforcement action will be taken against the trio.
COVID-19 response commander Jeroen Weimar confirmed on Tuesday morning the Department of Health had issued a $200 infringement to one of the movers for failing to comply with mask-wearing rules.

The department completed its investigation on Monday, Mr Weimar said. Their report was then handed to police, who were asked to identify whether there had been any further offending by the removalists.

The Department of Health s compliance and enforcement team yesterday completed its investigation into the three removalists, probing whether they had breached the Public Health and Wellbeing Act and the Chief Health Officer s directions.
The department found the removalists entered Victoria on a valid permit - the Specified Worker (Low Workplace Interaction) permit - which is designed for commercial freight workers.
