Before that brutal bout, Miguel spoke with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated about his former Rascalz stablemates (Wes Lee and Nash Carter) signing with WWE and why he didn’t go with them. At this month’s NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver, MSK won the NXT Tag Team Titles after debuting in January. The 26-year-old has a dozen years of experience in wrestling, and though he has established himself as a joy to watch in the ring, he is still nowhere close to hitting his prime. There is also a deeper symbolism at play, as Miguel, in his own specific manner, is already the last man standing in Impact. There was specific interest in The Rascalz, a group in Impact consisting of Miguel, Dezmond Xavier (Deveon Aikens) and Zachary Wentz (Zachary Green). Kushida has recently moved away from the Back To The Future look in favor of a more MMA-inspired look. This week he was working in trunks, like last week, but with no boots on. Fans on social media have responded to the changes with a significant amount of positive feedback. It’s believed that Kushida has taken on more of a look inspired by Japanese pro wrestler and MMA fighter Kazushi Sakuraba. Kushida learned to grapple from Sakuraba, and named his Sakuraba Lock (Hoverboard Lock) after the UFC Hall of Famer. ....

Bronson Reed vs. Austin Theory will take place on NXT next Tuesday. if Reed wins, he ll get a future shot at Johnny Gargano s NXT North American Championship. Mercedes Martinez vs. Dakota Kai and a six-man tag with Kushida & MSK (Wes Lee & Nash Carter) facing Legado Del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Raul Mendoza & Joaquin Wilde) are the other two matches that have been announced for next Tuesday s NXT. Reed won the Gauntlet Eliminator match at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver night one earlier this month and advanced to challenge for Gargano s North American title on night two, but Gargano defeated him to retain. Reed confronted Gargano on NXT tonight and said he still has his eyes on Gargano s title. Gargano told Reed to get to the back of the line, but Theory said he already talked to NXT general manager William Regal and Regal said the only way Reed will get another title shot is if he defeats Theory. ....
