Krishnanagar (Nadia): Three youths from Nadia who were part of the catering crew on board P-305 are among those missing since the barge sank off Mumbai coast when Cyclone Tauktae made landfall on May 17.
The company, which employed Sribash Biswas, Sajal Biswas and Tanmoy Ghosh, has asked their family members to come to Mumbai with necessary identification documents. While two families have already left for the western city, one is wait-ing for Covid-negative report to board the special train. In Nadia, anxious relatives are hoping against hope for a reunion.
Son of a poor farmer in Krishnanagar-Jahangirpur, 27-year-old Sribash couldn’t complete his graduation and took up a waiter’s job last October. “My son had called me last Sunday to inform me about the cyclone. Later that night, he sent a message saying he would abandon the sinking vessel and jump into the sea if there were no rescue boats in sight,” mother Aradhana said between sobs and sniffles. ....
