Florida firm to open Natick marijuana testing lab

By Sam Bonacci
Kaycha Labs, a marijuana testing company based in Fort Lauderdale, has announced a new lab in Natick will be part of its expansion into three new states.
The company said the expansion into Massachusetts, Oregon and Nevada would bring the total number of labs for the company to nine, covering California, Colorado, Florida (Fort Lauderdale/Davie and Gainesville), Oklahoma and Tennessee in addition to the newly announced locations.
The Massachusetts lab is a new build and is located in Natick near major interstate highways within a couple hours driving time to all major customers, according to Kaycha Labs. The company’s website lists its address as 16 Tech Circle, Suite 201.  ....

Developer fed up with Natick officials, may pull the plug on a proposed downtown development.

NATICK The developer of a new building proposed for the site of a July 2019 fire that destroyed a downtown business block says he might pull the plug on the project after the five-member Planning Board failed to achieve the four votes necessary to move it forward.
The board’s 3-2 vote supports a revised draft decision between the board and developer Stuart Rothman for a proposed two-story building at 1 South Main St.
However, because the decision included the board s prior approval of a special permit on a zoning bylaw, four affirmative votes were necessary to support the draft decision.
The property has remained vacant since the July 22, 2019, fire. ....

Developer says Natick Planning Board to support his latest proposal

NATICK Developer Stuart Rothman sent a clear message to the Planning Board on Wednesday night: Work with him on his latest development proposal at the site of a downtown business block destroyed by a raging fire, or he will likely walk away and keep the property in its current vacant state.
Rothman owns the block at 1 South Main St., where an eight-alarm fire destroyed several businesses on July 22, 2019. His latest proposal includes what he called a “Natick pop-up hamlet” that includes 10 separate spaces  each 500 square feet  that are built off-site, trucked in and joined together, and rented to small retailers and artists. An interior courtyard could potentially serve as space for kiosks and a venue for summer music performances. ....
