[Diocese of South Carolina] The Rev. Ruth M. Woodliff-Stanley was May 1 to be the 15th bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of South Carolina during a Special Meeting of Convention held for the purposes of the election. Once consecrated in October, Bishop-elect Woodliff-Stanley will be the first female to serve as bishop in the more than 200-year history of the historic diocese.
Woodliff-Stanley, who currently serves as canon for strategic change for the Dioceses of Northwestern Pennsylvania & Western New York, and the senior vice president for strategic change with the Episcopal Church Building Fund, was elected on the second ballot in an election that was fully conducted on Zoom due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Deborah Richardson to lead ACLU of Colorado


The Atlanta native will join the American Civil Liberties Union office in Denver on March 1. 
Richardson succeeds Nathan Woodliff-Stanley, an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister who stepped down last year to return to the ministry.
Richardson is the former executive director of the International Human Trafficking Institute of the National Center for Civil and Human Rights in Atlanta, where she was formerly its executive vice president. 
She has worked for three decades for global, national and local causes that support non-dominant identity groups, and she s a nationally recognized expert in justice for women and their families.
