LAHORE: The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department is launching a special vaccination campaign in five big cities of Punjab from July 26 to August 10 to vaccinate the people at their doorstep at the union council level.
According to P&SHD Secretary Sarah Aslam, a minimum 40 per cent population of Lahore, Multan, Gujranwala and Faisalabad would be vaccinated in the special campaign. Moreover, a minimum 70 per cent population of Rawalpindi will also be vaccinated during the campaign. The campaign is being launched at the level of the union council for public convenience.
Special instructions for intensive vaccination drives have been given to all CEOs and other officers concerned. Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Secretary Sarah Aslam said only vaccination was the real remedy for COVID-19 and its new Delta variant. ....

NANKANA SAHIB: A man died in an accident at village Kali Bair on Nankana-Mangtanwala Road during Eid days. Reportedly, a speeding car hit a 45-year-old motorcyclist Falek Sher, leaving him dead on the spot.
BODY RECOVERED: The body of an unidentified man was recovered from a canal. Reportedly, locals spotted the body floating in the canal and informed Rescue-1122. The body was handed over to police.
FIVE BANDITS HELD: Police have claimed to arrest five members of an intra-district dacoits gang. Reportedly, on a tip-off, police arrested ringleader Tanvir alias Teeri and his accomplices identified as Asaad, Muard, Bota and Abbas. They were wanted by police of Lahore, Nankana and Sheikhupura. Sugar crisis: Pakistani consumers take a costly ride of paying high prices--China Economic Net

ISLAMABAD, July 23 (China Economic Net) - According to the data of Sensitive Price Index, sugar prices soared to Rs98-110 per kg in major cities of Pakistan in fiscal year 2021 as compared to Rs78-85 in the preceding year. Thus consumers have to pay Rs20-25 more.

Touching upon why the sugar prices increased, Iskandar Khan, Central President of Pakistan Sugar Mills Association, said “when mills buy expensive cane from the middleman, automatically sugar prices rise. So later it’s found that the recovery of sugar cane will be reduced this season. In the present price of sugar, 80% is the price of sugarcane.” ....

10 more Covid deaths in Punjab - Newspaper

LAHORE: With 10 more deaths due to Covid-19 during the last 24 hours in Punjab, the positivity rate of the infection has increased to 6.5 in Rawalpindi, a district reporting the highest percentage across the province so far.
Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department Secretary Sara Aslam said on Monday the province had reported 2.1 infectivity ratio of Covid-19. She said Lahore reported 2.7, Faisalabad 2.6 and Multan reported 1.6 positivity ratio of the coronavirus.
The total number of infections in Punjab reached 350,618 after 359 more people tested positive for the virus during the last 24 hours, she said.
Of them, 186 were reported from Lahore, 87 from Rawalpindi, 18 from Faisalabad, nine from Multan while other cases were reported from Chakwal, Khushab, Sheikhupura, Bahawalpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Gujranwala, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Bahawalnagar, Gujrat, Mianwali, Nankana, Okara, Pakpattan etc. ....
