On World Fair Trade Day the World Fair Trade Organization is promoting the message to ‘build back fairer’, following the disruption caused by Covid-19.
For Newcastle organisation, Shared Interest, it also provides a valuable opportunity to reflect on the vital role farmers and workers play in providing the food we eat.
Shared Interest has over 10,000 members in the UK. Each member’s investment is pooled to provide vital finance to businesses in 51 countries, supporting 352,122 people last year alone.

Napier Trade Aid is urging shoppers to try fair trade for a day and join the worldwide movement celebrating World Fair Trade Day. And it just happens to be right in time for Mother s Day.
World Fair Trade Day began globally in 1989, with New Zealand adopting the policy 15 years later. On Saturday, May 8, the Hastings St store will offer samples of fair trade tea, coffee, chocolate and ginger beer.
