Sydney property: Rich Lister Ian Malouf buys $20 million getaway in Palm Beach

Rich List garbo-turned-yacht broker Ian Malouf has joined the crush of prominent eastern suburbs families on Palm Beach’s Snapperman Beach, buying a weekend getaway for about $20 million.
The beachfront house in the exclusive Sydney suburb has long been owned by the McNiven family, bought in 1997 for $2.06 million and held by late businessman John McNiven until recently, when Malouf negotiated to buy it directly.
Malouf declined to comment on the purchase, saying that he didn’t know that information was out yet, and settlement would reveal the price.
Palm Beach’s Snapperman Beach is crammed full of holiday goers from the eastern suburbs, including the most recent arrival, Ian Malouf.  ....

Supply to power sector at nearly 44 mt in May 2021 was up by 41% as compared to same period last year
Riding on the back of a revival in demand from the power sector, Coal India Ltd (CIL) witnessed a surge in coal off-take to 55 million tonnes (mt) for the month of May this year. Coal offtake same period last year was lower at around 40 mt due to Covid induced lockdown and economic slowdown.
However, the offtake in May 2021 is almost six per cent higher as compared to 52 mt recorded by the company in May 2019 during the pre Covid period. ....

Shillong: Four Miners from Assam and one from Tripura were feared to be trapped after a dynamite blast led to the flooding of a coal mine in East Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya, a senior police officer said.
Silchar superintendent of Police in Assam had sent information about the possible trapping of six miners from Assam in the mine accident on Sunday. ....
