SACRAMENTO – In celebration of March as National Women’s History Month, State Senator Bob Archuleta (D- Pico Rivera), named Stephanie Jones, MSN, RN, CNOR, as 32nd Senate District 2021 Woman of the Year.
Jones was selected from a group of outstanding nominees who have served District 32 during the COVID-19 pandemic in their respective roles in the community.
“This year’s Woman of the Year, Stephanie Jones, in her capacity as Clinical Director of both the Surgery and Sterile Processing departments at PIH Health Hospital in Downey, has been an inspiration to staff, guiding them as, together, they face the day-to-day challenges of treating patients during this unparalleled public health crisis,” Archuleta said. ....

The 2021 Lakewood Run celebrates its 30th anniversary when it kicks off virtually on Saturday, March 6, 2021. Although COVID considerations prevent the Lakewood Run from offering its traditional activities, this year’s participants can download a virtual “race map” and have 30 days to complete the “30 for 30th Challenge” by visiting local businesses for fun giveaways and discounts.
Registration is available only online at www.lakewoodrun.com/registration. Registration fees include a specially designed T-shirt ($45) or half-zip ($55).
Your support of the Lakewood Run funds the Soroptimist International of Lakewood/Long Beach programs for women and girls, providing resources to improve their education, skills and employment prospects. In addition, Run proceeds help local organizations such as Lakewood Meals on Wheels, Su Casa~Ending Domestic Violence, Friends of the Lakewood Sheriff’s Station Fund, and 9-9-9 for Kids (a program benefitting foster children in L.A. ....
