Two more Marion businesses receive covid relief

MARION State Senator Marc Pacheco announced on Jan. 28 that two more Marion businesses Kate’s Simple Eats and A.B.R Vending, Inc. will receive covid aid through the Small Business Grant Program.
Kate’s Simple eats will receive $40,000 and A.B.R Vending will receive $10,000 in aid.
The grants come as part of a $750,000 round of relief from the state, and follows three other rounds of relief totaling over $3 million.
“Since the COVID-19 Small Business Grant Program began in December 72 local businesses in the district I represent have been selected to receive a total of over $3.7 Million, these funds will go a long way in helping them to remain viable,” Pacheco said in a press release. “I am very pleased that they have been selected to receive these funds.” ....

Tri-Town businesses receive covid aid

MARION The Atlantic Bistro, Brew Fish and Equestrian Element are among the businesses to receive a grant In a third round of funding dispersed to businesses through the Covid-19 Small Business Grant Program.
The grants, which ranged from $10,000 to $75,000, were announced by State Senator Marc Pacheco on Jan. 14.
Over $1.2 million in funding was dispersed in this round of grants to businesses across the 1st Plymouth and Bristol District, which includes Marion, Bridgewater, Carver, Middleborough, Raynham, Taunton, and Wareham. Rochester and Mattapoisett are part of the 1st and 2nd Bristol and Plymouth districts, respectively.
Atlantic Bistro and Brew Fish each received a $75,000 grant in the third round of funding. ....

Buzzards Bay Coalition awarded $15,000 to repair Wickets Island pier

The Buzzards Bay Coalition was awarded a $15,000 state grant to repair a stone pier on Wickets Island in Onset Bay.
The Baker-Polito administration announced that the Buzzard Bay Coalition’s grant was among a series of grants awarded to “improve access to saltwater fishing areas popular with Massachusetts’ recreational fishing community,” according to a press release.
The stone pier that will be repaired with the grant money is part of the Onset Bay Reserve, which is owned and being improved by the Buzzards Bay Coalition. “The Onset Bay Reserve protects over 100 acres of beach, dune, saltmarsh, tidal flats, and coastal forest,” said the press release. ....

Two Wareham businesses will receive $75,000 covid-19 small business grants

Dorothy Cox s Candies Inc. in Wareham and the Creative Development Child Center also known as Sandy’s School in East Wareham will each receive grants of $75,000 through the Covid-19 Small Business Grant Program.
Sandy Boucher, who owns Sandy’s School and has been in the childcare business for 35 years, said it was great to get the grant because she wants to keep her business running through the covid crisis.
“When people go back to work, they need childcare centers open,” she said. “We’ve been fortunate to have survived, and with the grant we’ll survive more.”
Dorothy Cox’s Candies makes and sells a variety of sweets, including things like chocolate, peanut brittle, taffy, ice cream bars and more. Dorothy Cox’s Candies has a location in Fairhaven, but the grant will support the company’s factory and store located in Wareham at 8 Kendrick Rd. ....
