BATON ROUGE - Employers are now dealing with a new crisis as the economy begins to rebound from the pandemic.
Some business owners say they re struggling with finding enough staff members. To remedy this, a joint job fair and vaccination event was hosted Saturday by the Louisiana Workforce Commission. The goal of the event was to fill jobs and get workers vaccinated.
LWC teamed up with Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome, State Senator Regina Barrow, BREC and Employ BR to bring the event to life. The job fair and vaccine site took place at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. ....

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - On Saturday, May 1 Baton Rouge youth will have an opportunity to get vaccinated and get hired during one single event.
This site will be located at 8181 Tom Drive and will offer COVID-19 vaccines and a job fair for high school students across East Baton Rouge Parish.
Doses of the Pfizer vaccine will be distributed from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Pfizer is approved for all residents age 16 and older. ....

Legislators want to hear from LSU Associate Athletic Director Sharon Lewis, but they may have to wait awhile.
Lewis is filing multiple lawsuits against the LSU Board of Supervisors, former LSU head football coach Les Miles and the University s law firm claiming Title IX retaliation.

LSU blocks employees from testifying under oath at state Capitol Thursday

BATON ROUGE, La. - LSU says it won t allow any of its employees to answer questions from state legislators Thursday related to the school s ongoingÂ Title IX scandal.
On Wednesday, lawmakers requested that LSU Athletics executive Sharon Lewis, who s filing aÂ $50 million lawsuitÂ against the university, appear at the April 8 hearingÂ to answer questions about LSU s mishandling of sexual misconduct cases.Â State Senator Regina Barrow confirmed the Senate Select Committee on Women and Children asked Lewis to show up after both Coach Ed Orgeron and Athletics Director Scott WoodwardÂ declined to answer questions in person.
LSU blocked that request with a letter to lawmakers Wednesday, saying that persons associated with the university cannot answer questions under oath because of the pending lawsuit. ....
