Stephens Bill to Protect Natural Gas Passes Ohio House

COLUMBUS The Ohio House of Representatives recently passed House Bill 201, legislation sponsored by State Representative Jason Stephens (R-Kitts Hill) that would prevent local governments from limiting the use of natural gas and propane.
“In Ohio, we are fortunate to have an abundant supply of natural gas,” said Stephens. “It is an affordable, reliable and environmentally friendly source of energy for millions of people across our state. House Bill 201 is a very simple piece of legislation that preserves a customer’s right to choose the energy option that works best for them, while making sure that every community in Ohio with natural gas maintains the ability for its citizens and its businesses to access this abundant source of Ohio energy.” ....

COLUMBUS State Representative Jason Stephens (R-Kitts Hill) on Monday announced Gov. Mike DeWine signed House Bill 450 into law last week.
Sponsored by Stephens, House Bill 450 will create a Certificate of Transition aimed at ensuring a more transparent and efficient exchange of information between outgoing and incoming fiscal officers, according to a news release.
“I am humbled to see the hard work that my colleagues and I have put into this instrumental piece of legislation pay off today as House Bill 450 is officially signed into law,” said Stephens. “As a former County Auditor, I am confident this bill will be helpful in implementing smooth transitions from an outgoing to an incoming fiscal officer. Part of my job as State Representative is to ensure transparency and proficiency throughout Ohio. House Bill 450 achieves exactly that.” ....

COLUMBUS The Ohio House this week concurred with Senate amendments to House Bill 450, legislation sponsored by State Representative Jason Stephens (R-Kitts Hill). It will now go to the governor’s desk for a signature.
According to a news release from Stephens’ office, House Bill 450 creates a Certificate of Transition aimed at ensuring a more transparent and efficient exchange of information between outgoing and incoming fiscal officers. County Auditors, County Treasures, Townships Fiscal Officers and School Treasures will have a voice in establishing the prescribed checklist needed to complete the Certificate of Transition. ....

COLUMBUS State Representative Jason Stephens (R-Kitts Hill) has announced the allocation of $515,000 in capital budget funds to Gallia County.
Ohio state lawmakers this week began hearings on the two-year state construction budget. It includes funding for a variety of initiatives across the state and aids in various local projects in Gallipolis.
“Downtown Gallipolis is a staple in our community,” Stephens stated in a news release. “It’s a city to be proud of. I am excited to see community attractions receive necessary fund to keep them continuously growing and developing. Local charms like the Ariel Opera House and Freight Train Depot are what make Gallipolis the unique town that it has come to be. I thank Ohio’s leaders for seeing the necessity to prioritize these community projects in the 93rd house district.” ....
