Mayor de Blasio today joined the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation (BNYDC), Nanotronics, Empire State Development (ESD) and CUNY s Medgar Evers College for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the company’s flagship manufacturing center located in the Navy Yard s historic Building 20, a 150-year-old former shipbuilding factory. The opening reinforces the Navy Yard’s mission to anchor the rebirth of urban manufacturing, create sustainable urban manufacturing jobs and grow the modern industrial sector in New York City, and comes as the city is focused on reopening and getting New Yorkers back to work. The project was primarily funded through $3.25 million from the City of New York and a $2.25 million Regional Economic Development Council capital grant throug ....

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has announced that six additional Empire State companies have received nearly $2.3 million in funding from New York State to produce needed supplies to help combat the COVID-19 pandemic. These grant funds will help alleviate product shortages due to supply chain issues that could lead to unfair pricing practices and delays. These companies will also increase the State s manufacturing capacity while creating new jobs and market opportunities. To date, New York State has awarded nearly $22 million in grants to 39 qualifying New York-based companies to retool their business lines and pivot to manufacturing vital supplies for ongoing response and recovery efforts.    ....

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo has announced the completion of the upgraded wastewater collection and treatment facility located at the Great Neck Water Pollution Control District in Great Neck, Nassau County. This $12.3 million project included the construction of a first-in-the-state receiving station that uses cooking grease to power facility operations. That, plus the construction of a third microturbine and upgrades to its anaerobic digesters, makes this facility one of the most environmentally advanced wastewater treatment plants in the state. The Great Neck Water Pollution Control District serves more than 25,000 residents in Nassau County.  ....

Sustainable agribusiness company will move into new building being constructed on the Center for Excellence Campus in Geneva.
GENEVA – Empire State Development (ESD) has announced that Assured Edge Solutions plans to grow its manufacturing operations at the Cornell Agriculture and Food Technology Park in the City of Geneva. 
The custom vegetable processing and co-packing company will move from its current location on the campus into a new building that will be under construction soon. Moving into the new space will allow the innovative company to create up to 21 new jobs; 14 jobs will be retained. Assured Edge Solutions expects to be operational in the new space in the fall of 2021. ....
