'Grandmaster Jay' pleads not guilty to federal charges, due back in court in February


LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) The leader of the Black militia group known as the NFAC pleaded not guilty to federal charges in court on Friday.
John Fitzgerald Johnson, also known as Grandmaster Jay, was arrested on Dec. 3 and charged with five counts of wanton endangerment. Johnson is accused of pointing a rifle at Louisville Metro Police officers and federal officers the night before the 2020 Kentucky Derby, according to a probable cause affidavit. It allegedly happened just after 8:30 p.m., as officers were conducting surveillance of demonstrators at Jefferson Square in downtown Louisville. 
At that time, LMPD officers at the scene received a radio transmission stating that a group of six to eight heavily armed individuals were parked on Armory Place, near a parking garage, according to court documents. ....

LOUISVILLE, Ky.  Kwmisha Adams life was on track just before the coronavirus shut down everything in March. She d finally bought a car after saving for two years. She had stable work, a roof over her family s head and enough money to keep up with rent.
Then schools closed as the coronavirus spread. She had to quit her managerial job at Dollar General to care for her four kids. She fell behind on bills. And on June 2, the car she d worked so hard for was wrecked in a hit-and-run crash.

Kwmisha Adams sits on the steps of a home she recently moved to after being evicted from her former apartment; not for unpaid rent but because of a dispute the property manager had with her parking her disabled car which was involved in an accident and had a broken radiator in the complex s parking lot.
