Rincon man sentenced for fabricating scheme to frame former acquaintance
SAVANNAH  A Rincon man who portrayed himself as a whistleblower while falsely accusing a former acquaintance of violating patient privacy has been sentenced to federal prison.
Jeffrey Parker, 44, of Rincon, was sentenced to six months in prison by U.S. District Court Judge Lisa Godbey Wood after pleading guilty to one count of false statements, said David H. Estes, acting U.S. attorney for the Southern District of Georgia. Parker also was fined $1,200 and after completion of his prison term must serve three years of supervised release. There is no parole in the federal system. ....

RALEIGH, N.C. – A federal judge s decision to deny a newly incarcerated man s request to vaccinate before entering prison is highlighting more than who gets the COVID-19 vaccine in America.
In December, Patrick O Neill, 64, sent a motion to U.S. District Court Judge Lisa Godbey Wood asking for more time to self-report to Elkton Correctional Facility in Lisbon, Ohio.
Two months earlier in October, he was convicted of illegally entering and destroying military property in April 2018. He and six others, who call themselves the Kings Bay Plowshares, broke into and destroyed property on a Georgia naval base in protest of nuclear arms. ....
