First outing for Go Golspie s new electric car

Development Group Go Golspie s new electric car was taken for its maiden voyage on Friday, February 5.
The vehicle, purchased partly with funding from the Climate Change Action Fund, was used to take two local people who cannot use public transport, to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness.
Peter Allan and Marion Sutherland of Go Golspie show off the group s new electric car.
Go Golspie board member Ian Sutherland, who was at the wheel, said, They were very impressed with our electric car. It took me a while to find a changing point at Raigmore but I managed to get the car charged and take us home again. It is ideal for journeys like that. ....

The community acquisition of Fountain Road Hall has been described as a game changer .
Development group Go Golspie bought the hall following a £147,900 award from the Scottish Land Fund. Members of the public also made funding pledges.
A post on the group’s Facebook page thanked everyone who had supported the project.
It read: “This is only the first step and now the work starts on making the hall a fantastic venue for a wide range of events.” ....

The acquisition for the community of two halls in Golspie should create employment locally, it has been stated.
Development group Go Golspie is set to purchase the Church of Scotland’s Fountain Road Hall following a Scottish Land Fund award of £147,900.
And the group is also taking over the dilapidated YMCA hall, which is located on the Main Street and is in need of substantial renovation. ....
