Columbus Distillery Brings Kentucky Bourbon Talent To The Buckeye State

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Watershed Distillery announces the appointment of their new, and first, head distiller. Aaron Harris joins one of Ohio’s oldest and largest craft distilleries, bringing years of experience from two Kentucky-based distilleries with him.
Harris will be responsible for overseeing production and quality control and will help lead the team in bourbon innovation. Harris comes to Watershed from Bardstown, Kentucky, where he was most recently the Distillery Supervisor for Lux Row Distillers. He has also served as Distillery Supervisor for Barton 1792 Distillery.

The empty merchant spaces at North Market Bridge Park continue to fill up, and its newest vendor ticks off a lot of boxes considered essential to a public market. This morning, the Dublin market announced that Urbana-based Saddleberk, a heritage-breed pork producer, is expanding into the market, offering a one-stop shop for Ohio-raised meats, produce, spices and dairy products.
Saddleberk, which is owned by Greg Lehman, Dave Rigo and John Sommers, specializes in raising high-end Berkshire pigs. Its story starts with Watershed Distillery, which was founded in 2010 by Rigo and Lehman. In 2013, Lehman launched the new venture on his own, and after learning more about the business Rigo sold his share in Watershed, becoming Saddleberk� ....

Central Ohio breweries have been responding to that need ever since the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic hit last year.
Heather Sever, vice president and director of donor services for Versiti Blood Center of Ohio, said it might seem like an unlikely pairing – breweries serving as hosts for blood-donation events. But, she said, the brewery community, as well as distilleries and wineries, are known for giving back to the community.
Versiti Blood Center of Ohio joins four other Versiti Inc. blood centers in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan, as well as the Blood Research Institute, which offers biomedical research innovation to improve blood health, according to Versiti s Ohio page: versiti.org/ohio. ....
