Chinese panel to empower Pak-China irrigation cooperation

BEIJING: A Chinese Association will empower China-Pak irrigation cooperation, China Economic Net (CEN) reported it on Monday.“We have recently established an international cooperation office to facilitate the communication between Chinese and Pakistani companies in irrigation technologies and products.”
This was stated by Dr. Gong Shihong, Deputy-Director of Department of Irrigation and Drainage, China Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Research (IWHR), and Director of Agricultural Water-saving Equipment Division of China Agricultural Water-saving and Rural Drinking Water Supply Technology Association, in an interview with CEN. The International Office, a department devoted to international cooperation under China Water-saving Association, will serve as a bridge between Chinese and Pakistani irrigation enterprises. ....

Hospital, Water Top Marathon Council Agenda

The Marathon City Council on Tuesday will focus on two ordinances that involve water and irrigation within the Marathon city limits and an important review of long-sought financial documents from Baptist Health South Florida, key to the funding for the rebuilding of Fishermenâs Community Hospital.
There is also a resolution on the councilâs agenda to approve an agreement between the City and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO) providing funding for the Community Development Block Grant-Disaster Recovery Infrastructure Repair Program (CDBG), along with and a property redevelopment agreement between the City and Marlin Bay Yacht Club.
Ordinance 2021-07 proposes stringent irrigation restrictions. It was pulled from last monthâs agenda because City Manager George Garrett wanted to have a Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority representative on hand for insight and details. Extreme Drought In South Central Idaho Likely To Pose Challenges For Agriculture

While Idaho isn’t faring as badly as the Southwest, about a quarter of the state is experiencing some level of drought, with one epicenter in particular seeing extreme conditions.

“This is an ongoing long-term drought that started back in the Fall of 2019, and we just haven’t seen any kind of recovery there yet,” said
David Hoekema, a hydrologist for the Idaho Department of Water Resources. He spoke during the last water supply meeting of the winter season on Friday.

The month of March, Hoekema said, was very dry for the whole state, meaning most places have already seen peak snowpack, and it’s begun to melt several days earlier than normal. ....
