Green groups threaten to sue Biden over Trump-era waterway permits

A coalition of environmental groups warned the Biden administration Monday it would sue if the Army Corps of Engineers fails to reconsider Trump-era permits for industry activity they fear will pollute waterways.
The notice of intent to sue from the Center for Biological Diversity, Sierra Club, Natural Resources Defense Council and others targets 16 so-called nationwide permits that allow discharges from oil and gas development, pipeline and transmission-line construction, and coal mining into waterways.
“The Trump administration flagrantly violated bedrock environmental laws when it reissued the Nationwide Permits, without regard for the people, places or wildlife that are affected by this deeply flawed program,” Jared Margolis, a senior attorney at the Center for Biological Diversity, said in a release. ....

Water Ways Announces a CAD$233,000 Order for Its Medical Cannabis IOT Precise Irrigation and Fertilization System

Water Ways or the
Company ), is pleased to announce that it received the fourth commercial order in Israel since December 2019, for its Medical Cannabis IOT Irrigation and fertilization systems. The CAD$233,000 order was received from an Israeli Licensed Producer who is currently building a 7,000 Square meters (approximately 75,000 Square feet) Medical Cannabis cultivation facility in Israel. The system is an Internet of Things (
IOT ) controlled irrigation and fertilization system for Cannabis cultivators and growers. Water Ways believes the system is one of the first in the world that was designed for the specific needs of Cannabis growers and cultivators worldwide. IBERVILLE PARISH - A man who has spent his career fighting to protect the environment was cited by the Louisiana Department of Health after inspectors discovered he s been dumping raw sewage into waterways near his home.
The dumping may have gone on for close to two decades. Records show a permit was applied for in 2004 for a sewer at the property, but no one followed through.
Last week, state inspectors with the Louisiana Department of Health paid a visit to Dean Wilson s home in Bayou Sorrel. Wilson is the Executive Director of the Atchafalaya Basin Keeper. It s an organization that has a mission to protect the health of the basin and its waterways for generations to come. ....
