Howard named 2022 Kentucky Valvoline Teacher Achievement Award winner


Russellville Independent School’s Jennifer Howard was among 24 educators honored recently by being selected as Kentucky Valvoline Teacher Achievement Award winners for 2022.
Howard has worked at RHS for six years and says it is an absolute honor to have been nominated.
“I’m so excited to be able to represent a school and community that has shown me so much love and support over the years,” said Howard. “While I’m not a native of Russellville or Logan County, it has become a place that has shaped me both personally and professionally. I hope that through this recognition I am able to shine a light on the amazing teachers and students we have in our district.” ....

On May 25, staff at Neal Elementary arrived to find someone had broken into their brand new 4th-grade garden shed.

PARKERSBURG The Wood County Board of Education announced the district’s 2022 Teacher of the Year, recognized new and renewed National Board Certified teachers and received an update on the Wood County Technical Center’s cosmetology program during a board meeting on Tuesday night.
Parkersburg South High School’s Sara Klesel was named the 2022 Teacher of the Year. Klesel has been a mathematics teacher at South for the past 10 years, with 15 years of teaching experience in total. ....

Neal Elementary students go home with a new book thanks to 'If you give a child a book...' campaign

BRYAN, TX — The students of Neal Elementary in Bryan all went home Friday with their very own book.
“I got Dog Breath, said one student.
“Right now more than ever, it is so important to put a book in their hands. A book that’s their own that they get to take home,” said Principal Juanita Collins.
Over the course of the last year, teachers and administrators have been forced to relearn how to teach their students thanks to COVID-19.
Principal Collins says reading has been the biggest challenge for most of her students throughout the pandemic. ....
