High Content Imaging Meeting

Registration is now open for the Royal Microscopical Society’s High Content Imaging (HCI) 2021, taking place online from 23 - 25 March
The meeting will introduce the power of HCI to new or inexperienced users, but will also cover current HCI case studies from leaders in the field and advances in HCI techniques and analysis. Major suppliers of HCI software and analysis will be present to demonstrate applications and uses of their equipment and software.
Anyone interested in HCI, whether starting out in the field or an experienced user, will benefit from attending.

Islamabad: Two-day online certificate course on ‘Basic Plant Tissue Culture Techniques’ organized by COMSTECH in collaboration with International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi, and Pakistan Biotechnology Information Centre (PABIC Karachi - Chapter), was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General, COMSTECH.
In his inaugural address Dr. Choudhary said that the field of plant tissue culture is extremely important with a broad range of applications. He said that this technology is although over 100 years old but in the last 30 years plant tissue culture has played an extremely important role in various fields of agriculture. ....

Huwe Burton was wrongly convicted because of deceptive interrogation techniques. How many more cases were solved the same way?
For Huwe Burton, the breaking point came late on the night of January 5, 1989, as
he sat with detectives in a cramped, windowless room on the second floor of a Bronx police precinct. He had not eaten or slept much in 48 hours.
A detective leaned in and said, Tell us again about what happened that day.
Burton, who was 16 then, repeated his story. He had come home two days earlier after spending the day at school and then at his girlfriend s house, to find his mother, Keziah Burton, facedown on her bed, stabbed to death. Her nightgown was pulled up to her waist. A blue telephone cord was wrapped around her wrist. ....
