The rules for testing of vehicles and mandatory recall under the Central Motor Vehicles Act provides for penalty in case of manufacturers or importers fail to undertake voluntary recall.
Automakers will have to mandatorily recall a vehicle if a certain number of vehicle owners file a complaint against it on a vehicle recall website to be set up by the government. The road transport and highways ministry on Wednesday notified rules for mandatory recall of defective vehicles by the auto manufacturers to strengthen the cause of consumer safety and reduce road accidents in the country. With the Road Transport and Highways Ministry notifying the percentage of complaints from owners of motor vehicles that will prompt mandatory recall of vehicles, India will usher in the mandatory vehicle recall regime from April 1, 2021.
Simply put, on the vehicle recall portal of the government, if lots of vehicle owners report an identical defect in a particular vehicle, then the portal manager has to inform the “designated officer” on the same to find out if a mandatory vehicle recall is required. ....

LAHORE:Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Sunday presided over a meeting at his office to review progress on different ongoing construction and repair projects of highways as well as plans for constructing new roads in the province.
He approved construction and expansion projects of four major provincial highways, said a handout issued here. Usman Buzdar ordered for expediting work on these four projects. He said that the Communications and Works Department should complete the projects related matters within a stipulated time-frame. The CM said that the foundation of Chichawatni, Rajhana, Pir Mahal, Chowk Azam, Layyah and Taunsa 204-km-long dual carriageway project would be laid this year, which would make transportation much easier. The 107-km-long Jhang bypass, Shorkot Road project would soon be launched, whichwould not only facilitate people of Jhang and Shorkot but also benefit those living in ....

Utahns drove fewer miles and died in greater numbers on state roads in 2020 â but most of that unexpected divergence was not the result of people driving at extreme speeds on the stateâs highways.
The number of cars on the roads decreased 13% from 2019 to 2020, according to preliminary figures from the Utah Department of Transportation, while the number of fatalities rose 13% to 276. But the number of highway fatalities fell. ....

Wyoming Highway 258, otherwise known as Wyoming Boulevard and Outer Drive, on the south side of Casper between Mills and Evansville is closed due to winter conditions.
WYDOT does not know when it will reopen.
Even if you manage to get on Outer Drive, do not park on the side of the road because that will delay the reopening.
