Bill Cosby s release from prison could be triggering for survivors of sexual assault.
It may feel like a slap to the face for some survivors, Adde Waggoner with Crisis Services of North Alabama said.
She says Cosby s release was disheartening and sends the wrong message to those who experienced sexual assault.
Even if they were to come forward, perhaps their aggressor would not see the repercussions from those actions, Waggoner said. ....

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Governor Ivey is awarding $214,500 in grants to four different agencies in North Alabama that help with domestic violence and sexual assault.
The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs is giving out the funds from the U.S. Department of Justice, according to Governor Ivey’s Office. One of these agencies getting the money is Crisis Services of North Alabama. Becky Cecil with the nonprofit said they’re getting $80,000. ....

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Governor Kay Ivey is awarding more than $22 million to help Alabamians who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The city of Huntsville is getting $1.8 million to help the growing crisis.
Homelessness is something Huntsville city leaders have been talking about for some time now, and they hope the portion of money they get from Governor Ivey will mean no one else is left on the streets. ....
