The number of fresh Covid-19 cases in the country was slightly lower at 2,59,170 at 8 am on Tuesday, as compared to the previous day’s record high infections.
Yesterday, the total number of fresh Covid cases reported from across the country was at 2,73,810, according to official data from the Health Ministry.
The total number of cases in India now stands at 1,53,21,089, of which total recoveries are at 1,31,08,582, the number of active cases is at 20,31,977, and the death toll has increased to 1,80,350, with 1,761 deaths reported in the last 24 hours. ....

President of the SARS-COV-2 vaccination campaign coordination committee, Dr. Valeriu Gheorghita told a press conference at the Victoria Governmental Palace on Tuesday that the authorities were considering the possibility of immunisation in non-COVID hospitals, with patients with chronic diseases.
According to him, starting on Tuesday the Pfizer vaccine offices can vaccinate 84 persons instead of 72 persons in one flow, agerpres.ro confirms.
I believe we can increase the vaccination pace. At the moment we have round 992 vaccination centres on all types of vaccines, gathering a total of 1,476 flows. These, at full capacity, ensure a number of over 140,000 persons who could get vaccinated, in the context of maximum occupancy of the places in the vaccination centres, Gheorghita added. ....

Covid-19: 80% of Sibu populace have registered for vaccination

SIBU (Bernama): About 80% of over 300,000 populace in Sibu Division have registered for the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme, the highest in Sarawak at the moment.
Sibu Division Acting Resident, Wong Hee Sieng said the percentage included those who have registered manually and through the MySejahtera application.
The record on MySejahtera up to now is about 50%. The number will increase soon after the data of those who registered manually have been keyed into the MySejahtera application, ” he told reporters at the launching of the second phase of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme at the Sibu Indoor Stadium here on Monday (April 19).
