The Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA) at Kasoa in the Central region has threatened to close down shops of foreign nationals, especially Nigerians, engaged in retail business.
The group said the invasion of foreigners in retail business had made their businesses to collapse.
General Secretary of GUTA at Kasoa, Bright Agyemang, who spoke to a section of the media, expressed worry over the government s inability to enforce the laws on foreign businesses in Ghana. ....

Nigerian traders in Ghana have urged the Federal Government to take urgent steps to stop the harassment Nigerians living in that country are being subjected to by Ghanaian authorities.
Mr Chukwuemeka Nnaji, President of the Nigerian Union of Traders Association in Ghana (NUTAG) made call in a telephone interview with the New Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday.
Nnaji was speaking against the backdrop of the recent arrest of 500 Nigerians in Bolga, in Upper West region of Ghana.
He said the 500 Nigerians were arrested by Ghanaian immigration and moved to the Aflao border without proper investigation to ascertain how they got to that country. ....

Over 400 Nigerians have been arrested in Bolga, Upper West Region of Ghana after being falsely accused of rape and dealing in hard drugs, SaharaReporters has learnt. 
The source, who is also a victim, told SaharaReporters that he was arrested alongside some other Nigerians who had registered as network marketers under a company called Qnet, which has a base in Ghana.

He said they had been invited to Ghana by the company and its collaborators in Nigeria who deceive people by telling them that there is employment and jobs that will pay $250 (N112,500) a week in Ghana. ....

The African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) kicked off on Jan.1, 2021. Nigeria is a signatory, as President Muhammadu Buhari signed the agreement on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at the opening of the 12th Extra Ordinary Session of the Assembly of African Union Heads of State and Government, held in Niamey, Niger Republic.
The main objectives of AfCFTA include: To create a continental market for goods and services with free movement of people and capital, as well as pave the way for creating a Customs Union.
It is also expected to grow intra-African trade through better harmonisation and coordination of trade liberalisation across the continent. ....
