Academy of Notre Dame's Isabella Langley is Main Line Student of the Week

A senior at Academy of Notre Dame, Isabella Langley is a National Merit Commended Scholar. Sheâs taking four AP classes and is a member of the schoolâs Dance Company, which requires auditioning. Langley was is one of three students whose Semester 1 GPAs qualified her to represent the Notre Dame Class of 2021 at the 41st Annual Academic Honors Convocation and Prayer at the Cathedral Basilica of Ss. Peter and Paul May 18. A member of the Global Scholars program, she also belongs to Model UN, Diversity Club, Environmental Club, Spanish Club, Student Council, The Gates Newspaper, and Student Ambassadors.

In second grade, my teacher, Sister Rose, had each student create a poster of our favorite things and career aspirations. My favorite subject math; my favorite color blue-green; my dream to play basketball in the NBA.
In 1995, the WNBA did not exist, so I settled for dreaming of playing professional basketball in the men s league.
In sixth grade, that dream changed. I listened as Ruth Riley drained two free throws to seal the college National Championship. A new dream was born winning a championship while playing basketball for the University of Notre Dame. ....

Notre Dame announces 2021 Commencement speaker, Mondira Kundu, M.D., Ph.D., ND '89 | News

Dr. Kundu received her Bachelor of Science degree from the Pennsylvania State University and her
M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from Jefferson Medical College as part of the six-year accelerated B.S./M.D. and Gibbons Scholar M.D./Ph.D. program. Dr. Kundu was a postdoctoral fellow at the National Institutes of Health, prior to completing clinical training in Clinical Pathology/Hematopathology and additional research training at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Kundu has received several prestigious awards, including the Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation Fellowship Award, Burroughs Wellcome Career Award in Biomedical Sciences, American Society of Hematology Junior Faculty Scholar Award, as well as multiple grant awards from the National Institutes of Health. She is also an elected member of the American Society for Clinical Investigations. ....
