NIM publishes BWC and CWC legislation survey templates – Vertic

VERTIC’s National Implementation Measures (NIM) Programme is delighted to announce the public launch of its legislation survey templates for the implementation of the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BWC), Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) and their related requirements under United Nations Security Council Resolution 1540 (UNSCR 1540).
One of the primary activities of VERTIC’s NIM Programme is analysis of states’ existing laws and regulations for implementation of the BWC and CWC. In order to assist states to comprehensively analyse their legislation, VERTIC has developed so-called ‘legislation survey’ templates for the BWC and CWC respectively, each taking into account the related obligations in UNSCR 1540 as well as in a number of treaties regarding civil aviation, maritime navigation, terrorism and international crimes. In addition, a ‘survey overview’ template provides a place to summarise the survey’s main findings and formulate recommendations to ....

Afghan women living in rural areas do not have many opportunities to become financially self-sufficient and have a decent life because of the absence of education and jobs.
31 year old Saida is from Dawlat Abad district in Faryab province in the Northwest part of Afghanistan, among the most insecure provinces in the country. After her husband was killed in an action in 2016, while serving for the Afghan Army, she had to take care of her 11-member family and provide food for everyone.

At least 180, 000 agriculture-dependent rural households are expected to benefit from The Sustainable Food Systems for Rural Agriculture Transformation and Resilience (TRANSFORM) Programme, which a consortium of three Norwegian organizations is implementing in five districts in Malawi.
TRANSFORM Programme is being implemented in Dowa, Mchinji, Kasungu, Mzimba and Rumphi with an annual grant of NOK70m (MWK5.6billion) from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) through Royal Norwegian Embassy (RNE).
