8th defendant pleads guilty in TRICARE scheme involving former local coach

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – An eighth defendant has pleaded guilty in connection with a $12 million scheme to generate prescriptions for expensive compounded drugs paid for by TRICARE. Thirty-nine-year-old Blake Yoder of Scott entered his guilty plea Feb. 25 before United States District Judge Kristine G. Baker.
Yoder joins seven others who have pleaded guilty, including former Norfork School District basketball coach Derek Clifton of Alexander. The 39-year-old Clifton was with Norfork schools from 2006-2009 and is now a medical sales representative.
The other six are Albert Glenn Hudson, 40, of Sherwood; Donna Crowder, 66, of North Little Rock; Jennifer Crowder (formerly Bracy), 38, of Little Rock; Keith Benson, 50, of North Little Rock; Keith Hunter, 52, of Little Rock; and Angie Johnson, 49, of North Little Rock. Remaining defendants Joe David May a.k.a. Jay May, 40, of Alexander, and Kenneth Myers, Jr., 42, now of Alpharetta, Georgia, await trial on Dec. 6, also before Judg ....

The Twin Lakes Area will not see any contested school board races later this year.
The window to file to run for a school board seat coming up for election closed Monday, with many incumbents retaining their seats without drawing any opposition.
In the Mountain Home School District, school board members Lisa House and Daniel Smakal will retain their Position 1 and Position 3 seats, respectively, after neither drew an opponent.
Donald Marler will retain the Position 4 seat on the Cotter school board. In the Norfork School District, Darin Hughes will succeed Josh Davis for the school board s Position 3 seat after David did not seek re-election. ....

School Board filing period closes, no races develop in Baxter, Marion counties

The filing period for school boards in Arkansas closed at noon Monday, and no races have developed in Baxter or Marion counties, and only one board will see any change in membership.Darin Hughes will take the Position 3 spot on the Norfork School Board after filing for the position formerly held by Josh Davis, who did not file for reelection.
At Mountain Home, Lisa House (Position 1) and Dan Smakal (Position 3) will retain their slots after drawing no opposition. Cotter’s Donald Marler (Position 4) is also unopposed and will retain his seat for another five years.
No races will occur in Marion County, as Flippin School Board incumbents Curt Bryant (Position 3) and Shane Nix (Position 5) drew no opponents. Incumbent Robin Lee (Position 5) filed to retain her seat on the Yellville-Summit School Board. ....
