Philharmonic concert is first Schuster show to have audience members since pandemic

The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra will return to in-theater performance for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic shuttered arts organizations last winter. The music of Ludwig van Beethoven and Florence Price will be featured Saturday, Jan. 23, at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. in the Mead Theatre of the Schuster Center.
According to organizers, the in-theater performance will be in compliance with Public Health-Dayton and Montgomery County, limited seating will be available in the Mead Theatre orchestra and loge only, patrons will be seated in a socially distanced configuration, and strict safety guidelines will be followed in order to ensur ....

Dorsey was inspired at age 9 after seeing cellist Yo-Yo Ma perform in concert. In 2017, he won a concerto competition and played a solo with the Dayton Philharmonic for middle school and elementary school students. ....

A Christmas Carol: A Radio Play, which premieres 8 p.m. Wednesday Dec. 23, was envisioned by Blake Robinson, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park artistic director, as a one-man performance by Cromer, who has starred as Ebenezer Scrooge since 2005 at the Playhouse.
