2020 Sanlam Award for excellence targets financial journalism

Speaking on entries procedures, categories, and requirements, the Divisional Executive Director, Shared Services Division, FBNInsurance Limited, Festus Izevbizua, requested all financial journalists in both print and electronic media in Nigeria to submit entries of their works published or broadcast between January 1 and December 31, 2020, on or before February 28, 2021, when the entry closes.

He said that the competition this year saw a re-introduction of two category awards in broadcasting covering two fields: audio (traditional and online radio and podcasts) and television/video.

He said the broadcast categories are open to African financial journalists practicing financial journalism on the continent, noting journalists from outside South Africa can submit their broadcast stories for the Africa Growth Story topic only. ....

FBNInsurance donates to Orphanage, Foundation

Lagos, Feb. 12, 2021 FBNInsurance Limited, on Friday said it donated various items to Orphanage Homes and a Foundation in Lagos and Port Harcourt as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability initiative.
A statement by the insurance firm released in Lagos named the beneficiaries as Heritage Orphanage Homes in Lagos, Rhema Orphanage Home in Port Harcourt and Down Syndrome Foundation Nigeria in Lagos .
The company said it gave the beneficiaries items such as food, beverages, toiletries, clothes as well as undisclosed amount of cash .
” Most of the items donated to the Homes and Hospice were largely raised through the company’s annual Staff Gift Drive, an in-house initiative that encourages members of staff of the company to donate various items for a common cause. ....
