RAJSHAHI, Feb 20, 2021 (BSS)- ‘Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Dhaka Marathon-2021’ was held in Rajshahi city with participation of a huge number of youths and students today.
Adhoc 40 East Bengal Regiment (Mechanized) in association with the 11th Infantry Division of the Bangladesh Army and its Bogura Area organized the event to mark the 100th Birth Anniversary of the Father of the Nation, the architect of the liberation and the founder of Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Rajshahi Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton inaugurated the colourful event at Alif Lam Meem crossing through releasing a balloons this afternoon. The marathon began at the Alif Lam Meem crossing and ended at BIHAS point ....

The historic Homecoming Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman has been observed in the country today (January 10).
The supreme commander of the country s Liberation War Bangabandhu returned liberated Bangladesh via London and New Delhi on January 10 in 1972, after 290 days captivity in the then West Pakistan jail.
Ruling Awami League, its front organizations, other political parties and socio-cultural-professional bodies have chalked out elaborate programs to mark the day.
Pakistan army arrested Bangabandhu from his Dhanmondi residence on the night of March 25, 1971 and sent him to a West Pakistani jail the following day. He was subjected to inhuman torture in the jail. ....

The nation on Sunday celebrated historic Homecoming Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman across the country through elaborate programmes.
On January 10, 1972, Bangabandhu, the supreme commander of the country’s Liberation War, returned to independent Bangladesh after his release from confinement for nine and half months in Pakistan.
Marking the day, the ruling Awami League, its front organisations and many others socio-cultural organisations have celebrated the day with elaborate programmes.
The AL daylong celebrations have begun with hoisting of the national and party flags at its offices and Bangabandhu Bhaban at Dhanmondi at 6:30am. ....

DHAKA, Jan 10, 2021 (BSS) – ‘Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Dhaka Marathon 2021’, the first ever marathon marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was held today.
Under the entire supervision of Bangladesh Army, the marathon was started from Army Stadium in the morning and concluded at the city’s Hatirjheel, said an ISPR press release said today.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan MP formally inaugurated the meet as chief guest while State Minister for Youth and Sports Mohammad Zahid Ahsan Russell MP was present as special guest.
After the competition, the prize distribution ceremony was held at the Hatirjheel’s Amphy Theater with Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed was chief guest at closing ceremony and distributed the prizes. ....
