Photo: WINA TROY (WINA) – An American Staffordshire terrier/beagle mix from Fluvanna County is the MVP “Most Valuable Pup” in Sunday’s 17th annual Animal Planet Puppy Bowl. Animal Planet calls it a “pupularity” contest, as Marshall won from among three finalists. One of the special attributes of Marshall is the 15-week old is hearing- and visually-impaired. However, as one of the Puppy Bowl announcers said, he “does not let that impair him getting what ever his puppy heart desires”. Marshall is from Green Dogs Unleashed in Troy. They are a nonprofit, according to their website, “focusing on rescue, rehab, placement, and training of special needs (and other) animals to work with special humans in need”. The website says their animals are “trained and rehabilitated at Unleashed Canine Training Academy in Troy. ....
