Punjab Archaeology Department, with the help of the wildlife protection authorties, has decided to build a mini zoo in the area of Hiran Minar.
Hiran Minar is a monument of Mughal era in Sheikhupura, near Lahore. It has been decided that different types of deer will be released to make the site a more attractive tourist spot.
The Hiran Minar is deemed as an everlasting symbol of human-deer friendship around the world. ....

Sheikhupura to Get a Mini Zoo Near Hiran Minar
The Punjab Archaeology Department has decided to construct a mini zoo at Hiran Minar, Sheikhupura, with the help of concerned wildlife protection authorities.
Viewed as an iconic representation of the Mughal era, the government has decided to release a variety of different deer in the area to give it a more attractive look.

Discussing the new development with reporters, the Punjab Archaeology Director, Malik Maqsood, explained that given the historic linkage between Hiran Minar and the Mughal royalty’s love for deer, the government has “decided to release deer in this area. LAHORE: Eleven members delegation of Buddhist monks from Sri Lanka Wednesday visited the historic Buddhist sites of Taxila. According to a spokesperson of the Punjab Archaeological Department, the Buddhist delegation visited the Taxila Museum and Dharmarajika Stupa and expressed keen interest in the ancient monuments of Gandhara civilisation. The monks worshiped at the stupa and also recorded their impressions in the visitors’ book of the museum. The visiting Sri Lankan delegation thanked Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar for the protection and renovation of the Dharmarajika Stupa. They said that they were very happy the ancient civilisations relics were being protected in Pakistan. They further stated that Buddhism is a religion of peace and non-violence and they had come to Pakistan with a message of friendship and love. ....

Punjab Archaeology Department has decided to restore a 400-year-old Mughal-era fort-like palace in Sheikhupura. According to experts, a study will be conducted in the first phase on the restoration of the fort.
Many changes were made in the structure of the building in different periods. However, much of the building is dilapidated and the exterior wall restoration work is under way.
Study tours from Lahore to Qila Sheikhupura and Hiran Minar have also been suggested. There can be entertaining and informational tours to Sheikhupura Fort and Hiran Minar from the provincial capital and for this some parts inside the fort will be restored. Given the current state of the fort, only guided tours will be allowed inside. ....
