Corey appointed executive vice president of Step By Step Inc.


Step By Step Inc. recently appointed Lesley Corey as its new executive vice president/COO.
Corey’s appointment took effect Jan. 4. Her career in behavioral healthcare and developmental disabilities spans 29 years.
She recently served as vice president of operations for a nationwide provider and was responsible for the oversight of six states and numerous treatment programs including substance abuse, applied behavioral analysis, outpatient therapy, case management, home health services, and treatment foster care.
She succeeds Michael Bernatovich, who relocated to Texas after 40 years with the agency.
Corey is also an adjunct professor, teaching courses in the disciplines of Psychology, Education, Sociology, Human Services, and Behavioral Health. Corey recently worked with the Chair of the Department of History and Social Sciences at Luzerne County Community College to develop a new diploma degree program, Behavioral Technician. The Nursing Excellence Awards is a peer-nominated award, created in honor of 2020 being the “Year of the Nurse,” and in recognition of the critical role nurses have played in treating patients throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, was open to qualifying RNs and LPNs working in a direct patient care position who consistently demonstrate characteristics synonymous with nursing excellence.
Moses Taylor Hospital selected Maureen Leggiero, RN. She was chosen for being a calm, compassionate caregiver and team player during the pandemic. Her calmness and confidence has helped to allay patient fears and anxiety. Leggiero joined Moses Taylor Hospital in July 2000 and in that time has partnered with CHEMS to bring chest pain education to the community. Maureen also helped the emergency room’s success in meeting core measure requirements and in securing the hospital’s chest pain and stroke re-accreditations. ....
