New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: Following the ruckus over the farm laws by the opposition leaders yesterday, the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday assembled for the third day of the Budget Session of the Parliament. Just ahead of the start of the session, Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Anand Sharma gave a suspension of business notice in Rajya Sabha over the ongoing farmer agitation against Central agri laws. Several other opposition parties including Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), All India Trinamool Congress (TMS), Communist Party of India (CPI), Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), Communist Party of India (Marxist) MPs also moved suspension of business notice in Rajya Sabha over ongoing farmer agitation. ....

Finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday announced a ₹3.05 trillion electricity distribution reform programme in the Union budget to help reduce losses and improve the efficiency of electricity distribution companies (discoms).
While presenting her third Union Budget she also announced putting a framework in place for allowing a choice of electricity supplier to the consumers. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday presented the Budget 2021-22 that aims to shore up an economy badly-hit by the novel coronavirus pandemic. During her third budget speech in Lok Sabha, Sitharaman said that the government is committed to the welfare of farmers and the Minimum Support Price (MSP) regime has undergone a change.
The economy is projected to contract 7.7% in the current fiscal year, although the government forecasts growth of 11% for the coming fiscal year, after a massive COVID-19 vaccination drive and a rebound in consumer demand and investments. ....

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Monday tabled the Union Budget 2021 in Parliament. The Centre has allocated over Rs 257 crore to the Personnel Ministry for the next financial year for domestic and foreign training of bureaucrats and augmenting necessary infrastructure.
Of the total allocation of Rs 257.35 crore for 2021-22, Rs 178.32 crore has been earmarked for upgradation of the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie to a centre of excellence, augmentation of training facilities at the Delhi-based Institute of Secretariat Training and Management (ISTM), and the National Programme for Civil Services & Capacity Building Mission Karmayogi, among others. ....
