Gift packs were delivered to community heroes.

The Huntingdonshire Community Group Covid-19 Response Team wanted to recognise the hard work and sacrifices of those in the community who have been caring for others throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
A message went out on social media asking for nominations of local caring community heroes who have made a difference to others over the past 12 months to receive a gift pack from the team.
In less than 24 hours they received 100 nominations for friends, colleagues and family members who had gone above and beyond looking after others during this difficult time.   ....

Butterfly project gives scrubs to Huntingdon care home

A Huntingdon care home has received colourful scrubs with the help of television presenter Chris Evans and the Butterfly Legacy Project.
Recently, the team at Hunters Down Care Home, in Huntingdon, received a generous donation of some beautiful new scrubs from the Butterfly Legacy Project.
The Butterfly Legacy Project was started by Maxine Welford in April 2020.
The project was created towards the start of the pandemic as Maxine wanted to help all the hospitals that were experiencing huge shortages of scrubs.   ....

Lisa Leader hits target thanks to Butterfly Legacy Project

Jackie and the team also started making bits for Christmas, such as little quilted bags that they had originally made for the women’s refuge; while Morrisons also offered donations.
They filled the bags with smellies , pieces of personal care items and made sweetie bags for children too.
Jackie continued: “From that we started making all these bits for the stall, and Lisa’s parents came down with a Marks & Spencer hamper and we raffled that off as well, along with the two quilts.
Jackie and the Butterfly Legacy Project also raised £1,000 for EACH, a children’s charity.
For the past nine months group have been sewing scrubs, hats bags etc for the NHS, care homes, Hinchingbrooke Hospital, Age UK, care leavers, PARCA, Huntingdon COVID-19 response team, food banks, mental health facilities, The Salvation Army, CUH and many more. ....
