Police Commissioner N. Shashi Kumar on Monday issued an order banning traffic movement on Karnad Sadashiva Rao Road, Panje Mangesh Rao Road and Sharavu Mahaganapathi Temple Road in the city with immediate effect.
The ban on K.S. Rao Road is effective for 60 days till June 10, while the ban on P.M. Rao Road and Sharavu Mahaganapathi Temple Road will be in force for 30 days till May 11.
The ban is meant to facilitate taking up storm-water drain bridge and underground drainage projects, a press release said.
The storm-water drain bridge work will be taken up near Shan Plaza (Hotel Janata Deluxe) and Prabhat Talkies on K.S. Rao Road. ....

MANGALURU: A nationalised bank manager has filed a complaint against a person for trying to cheat about Rs 2.2 lakh by making a false claim on ATM transaction failure.
According to the State Bank of India, Port Road bank manager the accused has used some tool, so that even though transactions have taken place, and the ATM user got money from the machine, it reportedly showed as ‘transaction failed’. The disputed transaction is produced before the bank online, for transaction reversal. The total amount was around Rs 2.2 lakh.
The bank manager, in his complaint to the city cyber police station, alleged that the accused had used the trick in ATMs installed in Morgans Gate, Mangaladevi, Kottara, Bunts Hostel, Car Street, Lalbagh and Empire Mall. The incident came to light when bank officials carefully checked CCTV footage from each ATM kiosk. The official found that the accused was taking money and inserting a machine or tool int ....

They have to stop when the passenger signals to them to pick them up and also stop at the destinations desired by the passengers. The auto drivers also get admonished by traffic police who are under the instructions of the people, higher ups and influential persons, for creating hurdles in the traffic.
Ideally auto rickshaw parks or stands are needed at junctions for the convenience of the people.
