Lainey Panter wins GHSA AA Golf State Championship. Lady Rebels Team among State Elite. Finish 7th - Fannin


Southern Hills Golf Club, Hawkinsville Georgia, was the site of history for Fannin County High School and the Fannin County Golf Program on May 18th 2021.
Lainey Panter made Fannin County history by capturing the AA Girls State Golf Individual Championship ( Low Medalist) with rounds of 77 and 75. Lainey is the 1st Golf State Women’s Champion in School history.
Panter entered the final round of the 2 day event 1 shot back trailing Blair Maner from Lovett. Maner, shot a 76 on Monday to have a 1 shot lead over Lainey.
Lainey would not be denied on Tuesday. A quick recap of her final round on Tuesday.  Despite a bogey on hole 1 of the final round, Lainey ,would par the 2nd hole and Birdie the 3rd hole. The momentum was starting to swing in the direction of the young Lady Rebel as she finished the front 9 with a 38 on a very tough course. ....

Blue Ridge, Ga. – The Beverly J. Searles Affordable Housing project is one step closer to coming to Blue Ridge. This comes after the Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend moving forward with rezoning of certain acreage to R3 high density residential.
The Beverly J. Searles Foundation, a Georgia based nonprofit that develops affordable housing, has a variety of requests pertaining to properties located along Mineral Springs Drive.
Philip Searles explains to the Planning Commission the plans for the affordable housing project.
Among these requests is for 1.2 acres of the property to be annexed into the City of Blue Ridge. Variances will also be considered for Phase 2 of this project, which will include units for age restrictive (senior) living. Ramsey named new High School Principal - Fannin


Blue Ridge, Ga. – Dr. Scott Ramsey will be Fannin County High School’s new Principal after the Board of Education (BOE) voted 3-2 in favor of the hire for the 2021-22 school year.
Dr. Scott Ramsey to be Fannin County’s new High School Principal.
The search for Principal of Fannin County High School began in 2020 with then Principal Erik Cioffi giving his resignation.
Cioffi resigned in August of that year after accepting the position of Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources and Personnel with a school system in Massachusetts.
“This move allows us to be closer to our immediate families in New England,” Cioffi said of his decision, adding, “I was born and raised in Massachusetts so I will be returning home.” ....
