Dehradun: Around 100-150 casualties are feared in the flash flood caused by a glacier burst in Uttarakhand s Chamoli district. The water level has significantly risen in Dhauliganga and Alaknanda, forcing the local administration to issue a Red Alert in the state.
Warnings have been sounded in major areas like Srinagar (Uttarakhand) and Haridwar since Alaknanda river flows from there. The authorities have increased the water flow from the Srinagar dam to control the flash flood marauding down from Chamoli. ....
