That could be a reality for residents who join the Commit 2 Fit contest being sponsored by local organizations and businesses.
The free contest offers residents a chance to lose weight, get healthy and win prizes. But interested residents have just a few days left to register.
Two $300 grand prizes are being offered to motivate participants to sign up for the 8-week community wellness challenge designed to help residents adopt a healthier lifestyle. One male contestant and one female contestant who drop the highest percentage of body weight will receive the money. ....

As the State of Illinois moved into Phase 1b of COVID-19 vaccine distribution, OSF HealthCare is preparing to offer vaccinations to some patients. The Henry and Stark County Health Department is managing the Henry and Stark county allocation of vaccines.
On Monday, online registration through the Health Department opened for those 65 years and older, Phase 1A, and 1B residents.
“In some areas across our Ministry, OSF HealthCare received a limited number of doses, which will be offered to those who are 65 years old and older, who are at the highest risk of contracting COVID-19 and developing complications,” said Sarah Overton, RN, MSN, chief nursing officer and vice president of clinical services for OSF Multispecialty Services. Patients who meet the age requirement with multiple chronic diseases such as congestive heart failure, chronic pulmonary disease and diabetes, to name a few, will be among the first ....

When Gov. JB Pritzker observes COVID-19 vaccines administered at a Peoria hospital on Tuesday morning, he’ll be witnessing among the first COVID-19 inoculations in Illinois after the state received its first shipment of the COVID-19 vaccine made by Pfizer-BioNTech.
The state received 48,000 doses of the vaccine on Monday about half what the state is expecting this week.
Pritzker on Monday said the vaccines’ arrival marked “the beginning of the end of the pandemic,” though it will be many months before all Illinoisans who want a COVID-19 vaccine are able to get one. ....
