WellHealth closed a couple of its drive-through COVID testing sites in Wichita, but a new clinic has opened up.
Testing is being done at the PBP building, at 2810 E. 21st. This is at the northeast corner of 21st and Volutsia. WellHealth’s drive-through sites are closed because of the cold, so this new site, and the site at the Hilltop Community Center are the only ones open for now. The site at the WSU Metroplex will not be reopening. When the weather warms up, the drive-through site at Holy Savior Catholic Academy should reopen. ....

Jan. 27 As Kansas public schools grapple with online learning during the pandemic, lawmakers are considering a measure that would help-low income students enroll in private schools, many of which are operating fully in-person.
The bill would expand eligibility for the program, which uses tax-credits to fund scholarships for students from poor families. It was considered Tuesday by committees in the state House and Senate.
Representatives of Catholic schools and education organizations argued that the plan would provide more fair and equitable treatment of Kansas students by allowing low-income students more latitude to voluntarily leave the public school system if they chose to. ....
