Burnham-on-Sea beach walk event raises £4,000 for War Memorial Hospital | Burnham and Highbridge Weekly News

MORE than £4,000 has been raised for a Burnham-on-Sea hospital charity, after 130 people took part in a sponsored beach walk last Saturday.
The walkers set off - at staggered times to prevent large gatherings - towards one of three destinations: Burnham lighthouse, Berrow beach or Brean Down.
They then returned Burnham s Ritz Social Club, for refreshments and certificates of achievement, with all funds raised going to the Friends of Burnham-on-Sea War Memorial Hospital.
The Friends is a charitable foundation which strives to improve the lives of everyone who needs help within the community.
Event organiser Mike Barsby told that
Weekly News that it had been an amazing response , and they were on target to raise £5,000. ....

A SPONSORED walk is aiming to raise £2,000 in support of Burnham-on-Sea s local hospital.
Saturday, April 24 will see walkers take to Burnham beach, as part of a fundraiser for the Friends of Burnham-on-Sea War Memorial Hospital.
The charitable foundation is dedicated to helping those in need, but this has been a difficult time for the team at the hospital and the friends group, as normal fundraising has been limited amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
Participants in the walk will be able to choose to walk to Berrow beach and back, or Brean Down and back, with start times to be staggered between 10am and 11am to keep walkers well spaced out. ....

Eighty local people have so far signed up to take part in a fundraising walk along the beach between Burnham-On-Sea, Berrow and Brean to support Burnham’s War Memorial Hospital.
The event – with staggered start times to avoid any crowds – is scheduled to take place on Saturday 24th April, starting between 10am and 11am to keep walkers apart.
You can choose your distance by walking to Berrow Beach and back or to Brean Down and back. It will raise funds for the Friends of Burnham-On-Sea War Memorial Hospital.
“It’s a family friendly event and everyone is welcome, even sponsored dogs!” says Mike Barsby, one of the organisers. ....
