Burnham In Bloom donates tablet computers to two schools
The team from Burnham In Bloom have this week presented four tablet computers to Burnham-On-Sea’s St Andrew’s Junior School and Burnham Infants School.
As Burnham-On-Sea.com reported here in February, the community-spirited members of Burnham In Bloom decided to give £2,000 of new tablet computers to help local schools and children.
12 tablets were distributed to schools in the Burnham and Highbridge area: Churchfield, St Joseph’s and Berrow.
And four further tablets have this week been delivered to Burnham Infants and St Andrew’s.
The group’s Jo Brown says: “Both schools very much appreciated them.” ....

Burnham In Bloom delivers almost £2,000 of tablet computers to local schools
Community-spirited members of Burnham In Bloom have this month delivered almost £2,000 of new tablet computers to local schools to help local children with their home schooling.
A total of 16 tablets are being distributed by the group’s Jo Brown and Dave Perrett to those in most need at local schools.
Jo told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We have taken 12 tablets around to three schools in the Burnham and Highbridge area: Churchfield, St Joseph’s and Berrow who had four each. All were very much appreciated – they were very grateful.”
She added that four more tablets are set to delivered shortly, with two each for Burnham Infants and St Andrew’s. ....

Burnham In Bloom pledges almost £2,000 for tablet computers for local children
Community-spirited members of Burnham In Bloom have this week pledged to give almost £2,000 towards the cost of new tablet computers for local children during their home schooling.
A total of 16 tablets are being bought and distributed to those in most need at five local schools.
Burnham In Bloom Chairman Dave Perrett told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We’ve decided to redirect some of our funds away from the school gardening clubs to this more pressing need instead.”
“As soon as we heard about an urgent need in Burnham and Highbridge schools, we wanted to help.” ....

Burnham-On-Sea Lions Club buys laptop PCs to help children with home schooling
Community-spirited members of Burnham-On-Sea Lions Club have dipped into their funds to buy three laptop PCs and four tablets to help several local schoolchildren with their home learning during the ongoing Covid lockdown.
“Burnham and District Lions Club wanted to help our young and their education during this current crisis,” explains the club’s Doug Plume.
“We recognised that our local schools may benefit from having access to more portable IT equipment to share out to those students who may not be fortunate enough to have access to laptops or tablets to be able to do work set by their teachers.” ....
