ALPENA Autumn Bildson is Thunder Bay Arts Featured Artist for May and June. Her beautiful sculptures are on display at the TBA Gallery, 127 W. Chisholm St., Alpena
Keeping in compliance with COVID-19 guidelines, there will not be a reception for Autumn.
Summer gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The public is always welcome to drop in.
In the artist’s words
“Beauty is subjective,” Bildson said in a press release. “There is beauty in the old, is it also found in the ugly? In reality, there is cruelty and ugliness in our world. I listen to the news and fret over the terrible atrocities that happen every day. I must keep my vision focused and look past the imperfect and strive to create beauty through my art. Like a graceful dance or a song performed perfect with passion, I strive to make visual harmony. It seems futile at times, but I have a vision of this world to be beautiful. ....

Totem Stack, an unusual piece of original sculpture added to the Michigan Art Walk collection,
stands alone at the entrance to the Arts & Sciences Commons at Ferris State University.
All my work involves raw, twisted forms made of structural steel with some application
of cast glass, said Albert Young, creator of
Totem Stack. The natural beauty of the materials I use makes it very easy to integrate the sculptures
into any landscape.
As a studio artist and owner/operator of the Michigan Hot Glass Workshop in Pontiac,
